The Bishop Edward Gaines Trust Homes are situated on a gully next to St Mathews Catholic Church on Silverdale Road, Hamilton. The Village is in close proximity to Hillcrest New World, Hillcrest Medical Centre and Hillcrest Dental Clinic. Short walk to bakery, dairy, takeaway with a bus stop right outside the entrance and PO Box at the entrance.
About the Village
The Bishop Edward Gaines Trust Homes are governed by the John Paul Vincentian Trust and Property Managed by Hunter Management Services. The Village was built in two stages; stage one in 1988 and stage two following shortly after. There are a total of 48 units currently on site.
Applications for tenancy can be made to the Trust, the criteria is:
1. Be over 65 years of age
2. Have a genuine housing need
3. Be able to live independently
Property Maintenance
The VIllage is maintained to a very good standard. Property maintenance includes annual exterior washes, regular cleaning of paths, annual heat pump services, annual smoke alarm checks and battery change. Grounds are maintained by a lawn mowing contractor.
